Artist Statement
Ever since I can remember, my eyes have always been naturally attracted to the beautiful subjects around me. The wonderful nature, the stunning lighting, the mystic atmosphere, the majestic rock formation, the aesthetic engineering marvels ... I have often found myself wanting to stop time and take it all in. I use my photography skill to capture the beauty, hoping to enjoy them longer and more often.
For many years, I have often felt that there is something else that these photos do not seem to capture. These are the things that I feel emotional about and fall in love with when the subjects are in front of me and engulfing me. This realization has been the power driving me to continuously evolve my photography style, and to create expressive art. I have transitioned from exclusively color photography to black and white photography in recent years. The lines, shapes, textures, luminosity, atmosphere and motion excite me more. Black and white photography allows me to showcase these elements, to reach higher satisfaction.
Fine art photography is like soul searching. It is exciting and emotional. The more I practice, the clearer it gets. It does not end. But every inch of progress makes me feel closer to perfection, and a new journey follows. It is the work that I find healing, and the work in which I can express myself without a limit.
I am fortunate to live in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area where I find endless inspiring places. Beaches, mountains, and forests are all within a day's reach.
Landscape has been my main subject. But I am not limiting myself to it. I find art in many other subjects, too. I hope you will come along and find joy and beauty in my work.
